    Problems with VLC

I have been using VLC version 0.8.something on openSUSE 10.3 and everything went well.
Now I have updated (via YaST) my VLC to the newest version 0.9.4.
As a result it stopped working.
On some files it just crashes, and I see in /var/log/messages file a message: "vlc[4575]: segfault at 00002af000000013 rip 00002af0db7120b3 rsp 000000004700c9b0 error 6"
On other files I receive an error message:
    "No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "WMV3".
Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this."

The "audio or video format" may change from file to file, but the result is always the same - doesn't work.

    I would appreciate any idea.

I don't run openSUSE, but have read of a number of users having issues with this latest version.

Can you use Yast to remove the new version and then use it install the older version back to your computer? If not, maybe you can find an RPM package of the older version and install from that.

Hopefully, someone will post a specific fix for the current version in the interim.
