    Reg - Booting Suse Linux

    Hi,

    I have an acer laptop with Suse Linux Enterprise Edition 10.1 operating system. They have partitioned the hard disk already.

    I tried to unpartition one drive and then tried to boot linux os.

    But it gave an error and I could not boot.

    Then I went back and partitioned the same drive as before and tried to start the linux os. But again it gave the same error.

    The error is
    " loading reiserfs
    waiting for device /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_wdc_wd3200BEVT-_WD_wxe308jf2860-part1 to appear:
    .............. not found-- exiting to /bin/sh
    $ "

    I am a new to linux and can you please help me in this regard?

    I'm using a acer Laptop (aspire 5310) with Fedora,Though I'm not sure about the errors you are getting, Using Reiserfs gave me some problem.So i would suggest you to switch to ext3 File System.
    If possible install Fedora or Ubuntu in your machine.

    I have tried OpenSuse,Ubuntu,Fedora with acer laptop and
    Impressed with performance of Fedora and Ubuntu .
