No desktop icons after installation
I've just installed SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP2 on my new Compaq presario CQ45 laptop. During installation, the Desktop Sel ection option was not there. After completing the installation, if i try to login through the GUI only the mouse will be displayed on a blue screen. No icons a showing. Can some please help me .

When you login, is it at a graphical prompt, or is it text-based?

The login is screen is at a graphical point but once i enter the username and the password only a blue screen with just a mouse pointer is displayed. No icons are displayed.

Hmmmm..... Sounds like an X problem. This might be difficult to solve if you don't have net access on that machine (since you won't be able to cut and paste the files I need to see).
Perhaps it might be easier to try installing a different Linux distribution?Registered Linux user #388328 || Registered LFS user #15880
