I need some software

i need some software for my suse 11,please if itis possible leave me a link for each of them:

1-a driver detective that can detect my hardwares and search automatically for proper driver in internet to my hardwares and install them.

2-a good IDE compiler for java

3-a good IDE compiler for C & C++

NOTE:i want to use my finger print and other devices of my note book.but i dont know how i can find their drivers and install them so i feel i should have a driver detector like is in windows.

a nice IDE for C++ and Java is Kdevelop. It is installable from Yast from the Suse repository.

Ok Linux is not Windows. Most distros (Suse for sure) do not include any proprietary code with the distribution. So you must get the "drivers" from 1)the manufacturer 2) someone who has reverse engineered the device. It would be great if you could always get it from the manufacturer but generally they only supply Windows drivers. This is changing and more are supporting Linux. If you get a reversed engineered driver it may work well or may not. You can help in the devlopment by testing a reporting problem direct to the guy that codes it. (try that with proprietary code) ie become part of the community. To find the drivers I always use Google.

Note: that the Yast software manager can find tons of software including drivers that have been put into various repositories around the world.
