    Welcome to the forums!

Here's a listing of the system requirements for openSUSE 11 according to the openSUSE website:

    Download Help - openSUSE

It doesn't cost anything to try it, other than some downloading time and blank disk(s).

Until recently I ran opensuse 11.0 on 512MB RAM and used much less than 40 GB of my hard disk.
I think it should be fine but I can't remember how much W2K takes. I think I've run them both on less than 40GB.
As long as you don't store loads of music and video.

Well I just loaded it onto a PIII 600 laptop with 256MB RAM and Win98 dual boot and it works fine so far. Although I know nothing in linux so I haven't done much yet but it should install.

Thanks everyone. I need to just buy a new computer, but I think I am going to try to load it on this one. The primary IDE channel on this computer doesn't work, so I am limited to two 2 IDE devices. I am pretty sure that is a good size the board is on its last leg.
