    what the meaning of this!!

    hello,
    when i dial in this show
    "SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.59_SVN16 on linux-0ran.
    Status is: disconnected
    trying to connect to smpppd
    connect to smpppd
    Status is: disconnected
    Status is: connecting
    pppd[0]: Plugin passwordfd.so loaded.
    pppd[0]: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.60
    pppd[0]: --> Initializing modem.
    pppd[0]: --> Sending: ATZ
    pppd[0]: --> Sending: ATQ0

    i use opensose11 and Gnome for this

    Its trying to dialup an ISP, From the error either you dont have a modem attched or your going to the wrong com port.

    I don't think because I type the
    linux-0ran:~ # lspci | grep -i modem
    00:0a.0 Communication controller: Intel Corporation 536EP Data Fax Modem
    as you see no problem with modem
    and
    your going to the wrong com port.
    but what do you mean
    I don't know anything about it

    If it is an external modem, try cycling the power to the modem(Power it off and then back on again), If you have not done this already. Also check your cable connections to ensure that they are okay.
