Checksum wierdness
I've got a spare drive, so for the past couple days I've been trying to get a trustworthy copy of OpenSUSE 11 to try out. The problem is, every single time I download it, it fails the md5sum check. I've tried a few different mirrors, but can't get the results to pass checksum. Any thoughts on what may be going on here? I'm confident my machine is clean. I'm running a clean install of FC9 with everything locked down. No flash enabled, javascript enabled only for one or two trusted sites. I'm drawing a blank right now. Any enlightenment would be welcomed. Thanks.

I do most of my large downloading on an XP box using Firefox and over the years (yes years now) I have found Firefox is unreliable on its own. You need to download one of the special downloading programs. Lately I am using "DownloadThemAll!" which is a Firefox plug-in and after I got used to it, I am finding it pretty good. There are some quirks. If you download from OpenSuSE web page it will not download the Bit Torrent link properly. But if you use the regular FTP link it works. On the otherhand, if you go straight through the FTP site, it will use the Meta link properly.
The biggest problem with Firefox is that if you try to browse during a download it will corrupt the file being downloaded. I do not know if anyone has ever told them about this problem. I have not checked their Bugzilla in years. I expect the same problem is occurring on the Linux versions.
If anyone ever checks and confirms this problem, it might be a good idea to tell them so they can fix it.

Huh, I've downloaded multiple distros off of Firefox running on XP, Vista, Freespire and Fedora Core 8 without problems of any kind, so I don't know what's going on. I say try what Cool suggested and post back.

Thanks for the response, guys. Cool01, I followed your recommendation and used Download Them All!, and the .iso downloaded with no problem. Very cool applet, btw. Thanks!
p.s. Cool01, does the issue of browsing while downloading affect downloads using DTA?

Edit: After re-reading my post I realized it might sound kinda spam-ish. I assure you that's not the case. I'm just damn glad to be able to finally d/l OpenSUSE 11.
