It may be something has come unstuck often uninstalling and reinstall will fix it. Go to Yast and find real player and select reinstall.

    did that

dus to some problems i reinstalled my os.
now also it is showing the same problem.
i am able to open mp3 files. but no video files.
when i open it directly without any video file to open from the konsole ( $realplayer), real played gets open. but when i try to open any video file with it , it gets killed.
