Trying to install Snort on OpenSuSe 11 and it seems like every time I try to install it and then run it after doing the configs on it and running with a list of instructions on how to install it. I run into a problem with the /etc/snort/snort.conf start command. Tells me I don't have permissions while I am running as root. I can tell it to snort -v or snort -dev and all the other commands. But that one to run Snort as start up. BASE is installed but it doesn't look like it is giving me a report even when I type Snort -v. I checked my log files and get logs written up but nothing is in them at all. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks
