ALSA Loudness On Gateway Laptop openSUSE 11

    Hello,

I have a Gateway MT6451 running openSUSE 11. I have been running openSUSE on this machine since 10.1. All of the versions in between excluding 11, my sound has been very loud, comparable to Vista and XP which are both on the laptop. When i upgraded to 11, i noticed a huge reduction in volume. I went into alsa mixer and jacked everything up to reflect kmix and it is still not nearly as loud as it used to be.

Is there a driver issue? Could i benefit from using a different driver? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    _Dan

Go to Yast-Hardware-Sound then press the other button and configure I think. You may be able to adjust sound from there. Also you may try as root to run alsaconf
