[SOLVED] screen is flickering - bad

Hey all -

I have suse 11 64bit with kde 3.5 installed. (i have also tried kde 4 with same problem except 3d doesn't work)
everything works great - but once I load the drivers for my Nvidia 7950 gt drivers the screen has a wicked annoying flicker to it! and it makes it hard to even look at it.

It recognizes my graphics card and monitor type in yast (after install of course) and I even checked the refresh rates at http://www.html4.com/mime/txt/linuxGoodies/MonitorsDB to verify that i have that set right.

I'm not sure whats going on - my 3d works great and everything is flawless except this flickering.

Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!

i fingered it out.

My screens refresh rate is shot - so i had to set it in the nvidia settings, not yast, to 60hz (from the correct settings of 80) and the flickering is gone!
