Deleting SuSE green start up screen
Can I delete the green SuSE screen on start up and have the Black screen with text that asks which OS to run, system is loaded with XP and SuSE 11.0

Yes ... do you want the SUSE menu to be black & white or do you want to use the Windows bootloader?

You should find plenty of tutorials on the net for doing this ... I tried it with Windows 2000 which should be very similar - I posted outline and linked to instructions here

easier to just use grub in black and white
open the file /boot/grub/menu.lst and delete this line
gfxmenu (hd0,0)/boot/message
you will need root access to do this

Open a terminal(konsole or gnome terminal or terminal program from the menu) and type
orCode:sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst
There is also a graphical tool to edit the bootloader. It is located in YAST->System->Bootloader. See imageCode:su nano /boot/grub/menu.lst
But why do you get into all this trouble to get rid of the green bootloader to make it black & white??You don't like it or it causes problems?
