    whenever i try to play any video file in kaffiene, it says plugins missing, but doesnt say the name of the plugin. which one should i download and install.. ??

    There are three plugins that I remember kaffine using (its been awhile so someone please correct me if my memory is bad)

    xine
    mplayer
    gstreamer

    Of these three I only ever used xine and mplayer, but would have both of them installed.

    Final answer: Install xine-lib (also get win32codecs while you are at it) and see if that works.

    well what kind of file are you trying to play launch kaffeine from terminal try play the file then post output here
