Cannot get DHCP IP address
Hi Guys, use linux at work and been using ubuntu and linux mint for a while, thought i would go back onto opensuse.
I formatted from and installed 11.1 fresh and all goes well apart from i cannot get an ip address or even a link light on my router, it used to work fine when i used the older opensuse, linux mint, ubuntu all worked fine.
So i formatted again and tried to reinstall ubuntu... same thing happened.
So i now have a dual boot xp/suse pc but with no network on suse.
It detects and list my network card fine... realtek 8139 but will not get a link weather it be dhcp assigned or manually.
Not too technical on linux so please assist.
TIA
James

If you do not have a link light then you have a hardware problem. check your cables.
