    error while installing git

    i am trying to install git on Suse10, while installing i am getting error

    error: Failed dependencies: is needed by git-
    openssh-clients is needed by git-
    perl(Git) is needed by git-
    perl-Git = is needed by git-

    any help would be appreciated.

    Why not use Yast to install git? It will also install the dependencies that are listed in the error message.

    I Tried to install through YaST, But it shows

    Following packages haven't been found on the medium: git

    1) have you set up your repositories? Sounds like you are trying to install off the CD/DVD

    2)10.0 is old You may not find a proper repository for it. I recommend 10.3-11.1 I know that git is in these repositories.
