    Trouble with networking

I'm using suse 10.3 and am unable to configure my lan network.
it uses a static ip address which i have noted down along with subnetmask, default gateway and DNS.
i'm new to linux and hence am unable to configure the connection.
i am using an nvidia ethernet controller for a lan card.(thats what windows calls it).

Set up the network using yast>net devices>net settings.
There are tabs for all the details you need to enter.
