openSuse 11.1 Installation DVD not booting

I have an older 478 pin P4 processor and that has used nothing but Linux (various distros) over the years.

Recently a couple of distros (LinuxMint, PCLOS) and now openSuse 11.1 have failed booting from the installation CD/DVD. ZenWalk 5.1 gives me no problems.

In the case of openSuse, I did a splash=verbose and noted that the boot process stops at udev.

Anybody else out there experiencing similar difficulties with new releases? Is there a fix?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

    Found solution

Seems there was a conflict with an onboard video card and a pci card I installed. I removed the Pci card and the installation DVD booted successfully.
