Help with difficult network settings needed please

    Hi,

I work with an IT company, where 99.9% of our work is with PC's.

One of our customers just bought a small HP laptop (or is it a netbook!) that has Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 on it.

Linux is all new to me!!!

The PC network is configure thus:

    IP Addresses 10.0.4.X
    Subnet 255.255.0.0
    Gateway 10.0.2.1
    DNS 192.168.0.1

I am finding it hard to find the right tool to set these things for the Wireless card built in to this device.
I have gone in to YAST2 Control Centre and selected 'User Controlled...'
I select the Wireless device, and Change to a static address, and set the IP to 10.0.4.25, and subnet as above.

The panel to the left tells me I can set the Gateway if necessary, but there is no option on this page (I'm used to all these being on the same window in XP!)

It is the subsequent pages that confuse me a little.

So, where do I correctly set the GW and DNS please!

    Thanks for your advice

    Neil

Hello and Welcome to the forums, Neil.

Have you tried the Network Manager in SUSE?
You can see the IPv4 settings tab under Wireless configuration.
    Never make any misteaks.

    No, perhaps I haven't.

As I am not on site, I presume it's pretty easy to find?

    Thanks
