    [SOLVED] Where to find my CDMA usb modems drivers...?

    Hi Everyone,

    I have Huawei Qualcomm CDMA ETS-2052 usb modem. Even though

    Suse Linux 9.2 with kernel 2.6.8 detects its presence when I

    view its state in usbview but I am unable to get on net? Where

    can find drivers for Huawei Qualcomm CDMA ETS-2052 usb modem

    (Its data cable has usb connectors on both sides and fits into

    usb slot in computer and phone) and how can get on net using

    my CDMA usb modem?

    Waiting in + expectation.

    According to this, Linux should support Huawei on its own, no drivers required. Perhaphs you simply can't find where it's attached on the dev tree?

    Step one should be valid, but SuSE uses different dialers than the rest of the setup examples. Once you know where it is, you shuould be able to set it up in Yast.

    just check with yast under network devices modem it will detect your modem and you can configure it from there

    Dmesg output when usb cable plugged in...?

    Hi,

    This is dmesg output on my system when I plugin my usb modem's cable:


    usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using address 2

    usb 2-2: Product: Huawei Technologies

    usb 2-2: Manufacturer: Huawei, Incorporated

    Where can it possibly be on my /dev tree, plz help me

    Did you try the yast option or using wvdial they both will list where your modem is on the dev tree

    Yes I did try Yast option..but to no avail

    Hi,

    I did try to install my modem through yast but it doesnt solve my problem.

    Plz help me how to load the necessary modules for usb modems connection and

    how to check if they are loaded

    how to make any symbolic links between devices...

    how to edit any conf files to solve my problem

    Most likely is /dev/ttyACM0, check to see if it exists while the modem is plugged in. That's where my old USB modem/phone attached to.

    the reason i said yast is cause it tells you where the modem is on the dev tree i have a huawei e220 and it is /dev/tty/USB0 my k800 and c905 phones are /dev/tty/ACM0

    Kernel wrongly parsing my cdma usb modem phone as storage device...?

    Hi,

    I looked at the kernel boot messages, suse 9.2 kernel wrongly detects my usb modem phone as usb storage device. How can I tell it that it is not a storage device but a cdma phone with internal usb modem which is connected a usb cable.
