    [SOLVED] Rpm package issue...?

    Hi,

    I have downloaded rpm versions of some programs for my Suse

    9.2 but when I try to install them, nothing happens and those

    packages dont install without any error msg whatsoever?

    Besides, Suse, Redhat, Mandriva all support rpm packages but

    they dont seem to install say one package for Suse to be

    installed on Mangriva having almost the same kernel and

    release no. Whats wrong? any explanation of this?

    Are you trying to install using Graphical installer?
    try it with command
    # rpm -ivh <file.name>
    post any error you get.

    suse 9.2 is really dated getting packages that work might be an issue
