    Problem in VIM editings

    Hi guys I have installed Suse Enterprise 10 and while i use VIM for editing a file, I am not able to delete characters by using backspace and even my vim gets missbehaved .. and even i have tryied reinstalling it with a new version but still i get an error.

    I think this may be due to my screen resolution..... can any one help me with this.......

    Try vi instead of vim.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    I am not getting it. Are you working in GUI Konsole/Terminal or in tty?
    Do mode keys like i, a, j etc work properly?
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    Sorry for the delayed reply... actually i am getting the same result in both GNOME and in Virtual Terminal....

    My Problems are:

    When i am using VIM i am not able to delete a character by using 'backspace key' and more over even i am not able to navigate properly throught my document... but i am getting proper results in Redhat,Ubuntu and other linux
