    sata help

The last time I tried to install a dual-boot setup I had IDE harddrives. In fact ALL my installs have had IDE harddrives including my laptop that has suse 9.1 (the laptop is old and needs memory upgrades to run 11.1 witch I will be doing soon). My windows has a NTFS partition. What do I need to do to get suse 11.1 to recognize my SATA drive, switch over to FAT? The drive is a Western Digitial 320gb. The Windows partition is only 100gb.

I'll try again. Last night, I tried after downloading and burning the bittorrent to dvd from openSUSE.org it couldn't find it. It's in SATA1 with no other SATA's install. When I rebuilt my pc last fall due to power failure, I was able to keep my IDE dvd burner and cd burner (2 drives).
