Thumbs down Help with removing VGA display as default on bootup

I'm running linux SUSE 10.0 on a hp mini note and after fiddling with it a bit, rendered it unable to boot up initially on the screen's own LCD .
instead i have to plug in a VGA cable and use an external monitor! which really doesn't help its portability.
After attempting to fix the problem many times, nothing's changed at all and even restoring the mini note to its default settings, it won't change!

Anyone out there able to help me at all?!

    Hi and Welcome !

Boot up in Command Line mode and execute this
    Code:
    su -
    sax2 -m 0=vesa
    Rebove machine.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I tried this, but unfortunately my brother's attempted to fix the problem and possibly made things worse:-
after booting up it goes from the final load up screen before the user log on screen, straight to some code with a final warning message saying

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

    i'm way confused now

    Ouch definitely messed things up.

To fix this you will need to boot from another device like a CD/DVD but I'm not sure a mini can do this?????

Only HP would know, but I doubt it. Perhaps the drive can be re-imaged. But again this would require HP or and HP service outfit.
