Webcam on HP 2133 - found a driver but can't get it installed?

    Hi,
I've been trying to get the webcam to work on my new HP 2133, but am not having much luck.
I did find some websites linking to various drivers that have worked for other people, I managed to install one of which, but you have to use Skype to get the webcam to work, which unfortunately wouldn't install correctly for me, in order to test it out.

Anyway, I phoned HP up who emailed me a link: HP 2133 Mini-Note PC- Linux Source RPMs - HP Business Support Center

I managed to download that file, but on the website it says to install the softpaq.exe file which I can't seem to find - there are no .exe files in it as far as I can see? (And I thought .exe was a Windows thing anyway?)

As you can see, I am new to Linux and still trying to find my way around the system after being used to Windows for so long! (It seems, so far, kind of like MS Dos in Windows - typing command prompts to install programmes etc?)

So if anyone could help, I'd be really grateful - many thanks!

That does not make much sense. The file you downloaded appears to be an ISO which is normally burned to DVD and is a bootable install disk. The exe appears to be a Windows program.

    Hi,
I have an HP2133 with 512 MB, 4GB SSD, and Suse Linux. After a lot of talk to HP I find that the microphone and webcam won't work as sold. There is not enough room on the SSD to install the software.
If you have a HDD with more room, call HP support and get an updated Suse with software to make the microphone and webcam work.
If you are like me with the 4 GB SSD, we have to find a smaller program or buy our own hard drive. HP says they won't fix the non-working PC under warranty.
    Regards, Noell

I managed to find a driver for the webcam which I was able to install successfully on my HP 2133, but I haven't had any luck with getting the internal microphone to work either. Auxiliary microphones work just fine, although it would really be nice if I could use the internal.

Does anyone have any news about this issue or advice on how I can get my internal microphone working? I've tried several combinations with my speaker/microphone settings, but to no avail.
