I am new to Linux, i installed suse 9.
i set the x, y settings for my monitor and now my font is so big i cant navigate my desk top. I am a novice at best, and boy did i prove it this time, if you can help i would appreciate it

Hi and Welcome !
SuSe 9 is very old and obsolete. You should install latest version only.
Anyways, Which Graphics Card do you have?It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

thanks for the quick reply;
that brings up the other issue, i looked in the BIOS to set the dvd rom as primary in order to reinstall and my dvd and cd rom are no longer in the BIOS. can you tell me how to reinstall those to the BIOS.
any help would be appreciated. as far as the graphics card i will have to get you that info when i get home from work.

How old is the computer? What BIOS?
There is no BIOS installation. The option is there or it is not.
You want to find the boot order setting and this is normally not on the first BIOS screen. Check the Advanced settings page. All the possible devices are listed even if they are not present.

i reinstalled os, i payed attention this time. if resolution or just about any setting in set up is bad, hit control alt backspace to go back. amazing what a little reading can do.
as far as the bios i used f8 at start up and found the drives there.
the new issue, at start up i only get failsafe! HELP!

Please tell use about your hardware. Suse 9.x is old and may not support newer hardware.
