    Hi and Welcome !

SuSe 9 is very old and obsolete. You should install latest version only.
Anyways, Which Graphics Card do you have?
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

How old is the computer? What BIOS?

There is no BIOS installation. The option is there or it is not.

You want to find the boot order setting and this is normally not on the first BIOS screen. Check the Advanced settings page. All the possible devices are listed even if they are not present.

as far as the bios i used f8 at start up and found the drives there.

the new issue, at start up i only get failsafe! HELP!

Please tell use about your hardware. Suse 9.x is old and may not support newer hardware.
