Unhappy Yast Control Center @ Linux

Found sometime to upgrade my Suse 10.0 to 11.x. Logged in as root and have a Yast Control Center @ Linux open with nothing but blue screen behind it. Clicking on file, exit; exits the root session to my user session. Powered down the machine and rebooted it but, to no avail. So what next?

    Huh, don't really know.

Can you run yast in text mode from a root terminal?

    Hmmm, are you running KDE4?

try deleting the .kde4 directory in your home directory log off then back on. This will force it to be recreated. If this does not work try renaming the .kde directory and deleting the .kd4 again.
