    Linux SW Development Advice

    Hello buddies,

i have a big ... kind of doubt, fear.. feeling...
here is the deal, all my life ive been a .net developer, but know i have to start a linux project, an embedded web server aplication, both sides application, so i was investigating that linux could manage java, or c/c++, or new well "new" languages like php, python.. etc...

So i just want some advices of what you recomend to me, which one is easier considering my background, or simpliest...

I have to implement the embedded mini computers that run on linux, so i may develop my aplication that run on a server end on the linux base embedded system, so that implays web language for the end user, some cgi or other to (like asp.net) communicate serial data transmiting and commands to a i/o device

Which language to use for the most part will depend on the exact details of the project.

Since you only know .NET you may want to consider mono which is a subset of .NET
