How many processors does SLED 10 support?

I have a two quad core processors system. Informations of the 8 cpus have already been written in /proc/cpuinfo. However, there are only 4 cpus whose dynamic behaviors are visible in the KDE System Monitor.

The command "uname -a" yields the following:
    "Linux linux-lby 2.6.16.46-0.12-smp #1 SMP Thu May 17 14:00:09 UTC 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"

Also, I cannot employ more than 4 cpus when performing parallel computing.
When I run it and set the number of cpus to be 8, I got an error massage like this: omp_set_num_threads value (8 ) is invalid.

So what's the problem? Does SLED 10 support multi-processor system?
