I'm trying to download a version from the enopensuse.org for the last couple of days....
each time, i sit and wait for almost two hours for the download to finish to find out
that the file is not match the checksum md5....

Can someone help me/direct me to a place where i can download one of the new stable version?

    thanks.

md5 check failing for downloads from opensuse.org itself? Ok, in the downloads portion of this forum we have a link to opensuse 11.1 (latest stable release). Try it. Index of /distribution/11.1/iso Good luck this time!

If you use a download manager like, say, filezilla, you can resume the download if it does not complete. This will save you a lot of time downloading the part of the iso that has already been saved.
If you look at the opensuse download page, you should find a list of mirror sites. Choose one that is closest to you. (Mirror Selection - openSUSE)
Another way, if you are on a slow network, is to download only the live cd or a network install cd.
This way you only download the parts you install.

    hi, download dosen't failed...

    hi,
Thanks for the replies, first, when you download the file, you can download the md5 and check it when done.

i'm using firefox to download the file - not specific download manager
(windows explorer cannot download files bigger than 4 gb).

it happend that the file is download with no problems, but when i checked the md5
    the compile code is different.

when i tried to install one of these, i got errors of diget not right and many rpm
    install failures.

i'm trying to download the 64 version for my machine which is new intel q8200 quad
    - could it be this version not working well/suitable for my machine?

If the Checksums do not match the problem is in the downloading. This has nothing to do with the architecture of your machine. How is your current hard drive formated? If FAT there may be problems storing files bigger them 4gig. Maybe try downloading one of the smaller CD versions.

Well for what ever reason you are not getting a good download. Maybe try a mirror site.

The firefox download manager isn't very reliable for large files on slow connections. More than once I've had it "complete" a partial file. I'd try a third party download manager. A bit of a resource hog, but I've found leechget to be pretty reliable.

Optional: In firefox add-ons, you can also install the FlashGot plugin, which will automatically redirect downloads to the manager of choice.
