    hplip suse 11.1 kde 3.5

    Hi all,

    Small problem.

When I use hplip 3.9.2 on my suse box and my hp laser jet p1005 all printouts are very faint. This is not the case with either ubuntu or fedora (both gnome). Is this and issue with kde or something else any ideas, tips, help greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using the cups driver? Usually hp printers are well supported on linux, but my hp printer is an old 4L, so I haven't had any problems.
Also look at the printer setup in ubuntu/fedora gnome an see if there are any differences.
You can install gnome and kde on suse. (As long as you set it not to use auto login, you can choose what desktop you want to use on the login screen.) Try gnome on suse and see if it changes.
