Where is the terminal in SUSE11.1?

I have downloaded several drivers and they are .bin files. Java is one.
The instructions usually say go to Terminal and work from there.
I had Mint6 for awhile and it had a Terminal.
Where is it on the SUSE11.1 GNOME?
I am also having a problem getting my HP6122 Deskjet printer to work. I have the disk that came with it from HP.

There should be a console icon on your bar or at least listed in menu under system-terminal

You can have a full terminal by pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 and logging in. Type exit to log out and press Ctrl_Alt-F6 to return to the GUI

Most installs will require you to be root

    in a console window type
    su
then the root password (note: the password does not echo to the screen!)

That worked. I used the ctrl-Alt-F1(F6) and it put me right where I needed to go.
I think I got the Java working. Now I will try to get the printer to work. I know I am using a generic driver instead of the factory one but, it seems to be the best I can get, unless there is a way to load them from the HP disk which is for Windows.
I may be gone for a few days. I may need to take my Sister in law to the hospital and stay in our other place while we wait. I may try to put another version on my laptop while I am there.
