Thanks for the reply belac! But this is not what I'm looking for. I've already installed google gadgets and it works perfectly, except that I don't know how to install a new gadget.
I want to know where to put the .gg files that I download from Google Desktop Gadgets
I've tried to put it in /usr/share/google-gadgets and in /home/my_home/.google/gadgets/downloaded_gadgets but they don't show up in the gadget browser...

Ok, we're getting closer, so let me try again

When I click on the "add gadgets..." menu option it brings up the gadget browser. But all the gadgets are not in there, only some of them.
Let's take the IEEEtv gadget as an example. This gadget is not in the gadget browser, but I want to add it. So I went to the website and downloaded the IEEEtv_Gdesktop.gg file. But now I don't know what to do to install the new gadget...
Thanks again for your help!

Oh nevermind. I got it to work... The system doesn't automatically recognize .gg files as Google Gadget files, so you have to right click the .gg file and manually open it with Google Gadgets.
Thanks anyway for your help, belac!

I'm not shure, but I found this on google : IEEE.tv - Google Desktop
Desktop gadgets on the web currently supported for Windows Vista/XP/2000 SP3+.
If it's true then not supported under Linux

-Download the .gg file from the google gadgets website.
-Right click on the saved file and select "open with"
-Type "ggl-gtk" or "ggl-qt" (depending on which google gadgets you use)
-If a dialog screen pops up, click "yes"
-The gadget is now installed. Don't delete the .gg file...
