However unless you are trying to protect a windows pc or network you really do not need it.

even if you run linux you are not prevest to viris(like thing) and linux does not stop you from caring win viris to other win.. fr: / re: you still can!

Yes that is what I said if you are running a server of some kind that may transfer files/emails to an other machine running an MS OS it is not a bad idea to have clam installed but as a stand alone desktop it is not really needed.
