    Firefox Slow!!!

    Suse 11.1 + Firefox 3 = very slow loading browser

    Performed so-called 8 tweaks that did absolutely nothing to speed up Firefox, me no like

    Anyone know of a fix that will actually speed up FF?

    Not sure that it will help, but you could try disabling IPv6 if you haven't done so already. That usually speeds it up quite a bit for me.

    One of the so-called 8 tweaks was suppossed to do that Using Opera, it appears to be much faster, no big deal I'll just have to get used to Opera's Interface, I kinda like it.

    Even Opera is a little clunky but it's a big improvement over FF, OTOH I could use Vista and IE8 and it'll be faster than Opera on Suse, WTF!!! Somethings not right here

    I agree I have found FF 3.x to be slow loading but once up it is very quick. FF 2.x loaded much faster. The reason that IE loads quick is that most of it is in memory all the time because it is part of the OS.

    What were these 8 tweaks? And what precisely do you mean by slow? Slow to load up? Slow to render pages? Slow to connect to servers?

    Well even FF loads up and loads web pages way faster in Vista/Xp than it does in Suse, what is the problem here with this OS? I really like Suse but if browsing the internet is going to be like dail-up it's bye bye Suse.

    Opera is slow too but not as bad as FF

    30 secs to load up the linuxforums page on Windows or Ubuntu it's like 1-2 secs.

    Fixed it Just had to refresh the Modem & Router, I refreshed the modem but not until i did them both did things clear up, 1/2 a sec to load pages now
