    Can'r run yast

    Hello,
I've added repositories for Suse 10.2 to Suse 10.0, and tried to install OpenLdap server. Some packages weren't install as there weren't been found. Now I can't even run yast - I get message:
    /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2ncurses.so.2: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /lib/libbz2.so.1)
Error loading language plugin /usr/lib/YaST2/plugin/libpy2lang_perl.so: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /lib/libbz2.so.1)
    No such client module menu

What can I do to recover system to usable point?

You need to know that Suse 10.2 is no longer supported. Ideally, you need to upgrade to OpenSUSE 11.0 or 11.1, but many OS changes have been made, so a clean install is preferable. I would just backup any important data, then install the new version.

This is server, where many testing environments run, so reinstallation would be complicated. Is there any way to return the system to usable state?

If you have an install DVD, you could use this to try to repair your system. A second option (if you know what you're doing) is to use zypper to reinstall the missing required package(s) from your installation media.

Thanks for response. I'm not very well in Linux, so please let me know how can I use the install DVD for repairing the system, but not losing data and running databases. I can't find the zypper. I tried to install glibc-2.4. I seemed to finish successfully, but after checking I got the message:
    make[2]: *** [/home/avackova/glibc-build/rt/tst-cputimer3.out] Error 1
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/avackova/glibc-2.4/rt'
    make[1]: *** [rt/tests] Error 2
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/avackova/glibc-2.4'
    make: *** [check] Error 2

Have a read of this yast system repair how to:

    en.opensuse.org/SDB:YaST_System_Repair

(I haven't yet posted enough to include URLs, so you will have to add the http:/ bit). Good luck.
