    hello,
I cannot get wireless working on Acer aspire 6930 (Intel 5100 802.11abgn)
. I have read lots of guides, even tried different distros, but this notebook seems to have some strange HW, beacause 90% of my attempts to install any linux distro on it failed. Some time ago i succefully installed open suse 11.0, but as i said, i couldn`t get wifi work... could some one give me at least some useful links?
    thank you.

You should just need to install the firmware, iwlwifi-5000-ucode. Various distros may have a package for it otherwise you can download it from here. I believe you'd just need to extract the tar ball to /usr/lib/firmware/

EDIT: I don't believe it works with wireless N networks, yet.
