Can SLES 11 Be A Guest OS in Virtual Box ?
I installed Virtual Box 3.0.4 on a SLES11 host via YaST without any trouble. I used the following repository.
Index of /repositories/Virtualization:/VirtualBox/SLE_11
However, now I am unable to install a SLES11 guest with Virtual Box 3.0.4 on the host running SLES11. I receive the following error.
kernel driver not installed ( rc=1908 )
When setting up the guest OS within Virtual Box there was no option for "SLES11" or any "SLES" as the operating system type. The closest choice was "OpenSuse".
I have been using Virtual Box 3.0.4 on OpenSuse 11.1 host with no troubles using XP guest and OpenSuse 11.1 guest.
Is SLES11 not designed to be a guest in Virtual Box 3.0.4?
Thanks.

Well, that shouldn't happen. but I guess the problem is about network install.
btw, If you are using the same OS as Guest and Host its best to go for Para-Virtualization.

Server kernels almost always try to take as much advantage of certain processor features as possible. I found that even Ubuntu server would not boot in VirtualBox until I had this option checked: PAE/NX It probably doesn't hurt to have VT-x/AMD-V enabled either.
If you're booting but the issue is guest extensions, then these need to be recompiled for your kernel, which requires the kernel headers to be installed in Yast software management.
