What files to save/archive after configuring a sound card?

As a non-geek I have serendipitously managed, after a long struggle, to configure a sound card (i810 AC'97) by ticking this and unticking that on various configuration programs on KDE. What configuration files should I save/archive, in case it all goes wrong again?

The directories to save are /etc and ~/.kde (or ~/.kde4, depending on what version you're using).

Edit: ...as well as any other files you remember modifying (say maybe ~/.asoundrc)
