My SUSE goes haywire after update & -wl installation

    Hello Everybody,

I have these experiences with openSUSE.

    1) I was trying to make the -wl work and after I downloaded from a site, my openSUSE would not work anymore. I have to use a live CD to make a fresh install.

    2) After successfully installing again, I started to update and after everything was done I found out on reboot that the SUSE is screwed up one again. I have to use a live CD to make a fresh reinstall.

I have it installed for the third time but I did not attempt to

    1) Configure the -wl
    2) Update the packages

for fear of the same experience above.

May I please ask for some guidance and help why I am experiencing the above? Thanks in advance!

Compiling a wireless driver module should not make your system unbootable. There must be something else going on here. Are trying to compile an entire kernel?

Install that driver using the Packman repository.

PackMan :: Package details for broadcom-wl

Either add that repository to the YaST repository list, and then install it that way (or is Zypper now used?). Or use the one-click-install button on that link.
