Error when attempting to reboot server

    Hello All

We have a server running suse 9. I had to do a reboot yesterday. the server dropped off the network, but did not reboot. It was attempting a connect, but I don't know why or to what. These are the lines that I saw on the screen:

    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=IPC)(KEY=EXTPROC1) ))

This file is boot.omsg in /var/log

If you made no changes to the software it is most likely a hardware problem.

Check wiring. I once had a mouse eat through a network cable. Maybe someone unplugged some where. Switch or hub went bad

Check card is the network card working

Check hard drive bad sector or corrupt file system
