Kernel panic on OpenSuse 11.2 Milestone 7. What to do.
Hi, OpenSuse 11.2 Milestone 7 Yast installed KDE 4.3.1 and Gnome 2.28.0 fine and even completed and rebooted fine. GRUB works fantastic.
However, upon booting, this prototype went into a kernel panic with 10 fails, and I get the login screen. I don't know how to boot into KDE 4.3.1 from the login prompt in real mode (The black screen) . My guess if the kernel wasn't confused, it would boot fine.
I'd post camera shot later.
I have Fedora 11, and OpenSuse 11.1 as backups, but I don't want too install those unless I must. Old software.

This should be reported to the development team. Tell them exactly what hardware and and any error messages.
log in as root if you can and type init 5 this should start the GUI.

Yeah, the specs are
generic socket A Motherboard
Athlon 64 X2 4800+
Geforce 8800 GTX
Kingston 3 GB DDR
It has one kernel panics for at least once [after which I hold down the power button] during a warm first boot after it installs. Afterward, I get an Automatic configuration screen in protected mode. OpenSuse KDE boots then.
So it works after the 3rd boot!

You should report this. 11.2 is still in beta, though it is getting close. This may be a problem with the installer.
