    Post how to convert html or pdf files to odt

    Iam using Suse linux server 10 SP2 (the computer says like this only) have a large database in html and PDF files. when i take print using dot matrix printer with this html and pdf files, the printer head got head so quickly and it began to print blank. So, I think converting html or pdf files in to ODT files solves my problem. can any one help me for this. using laserjet printer costs more.

    Do a google search for html2odt and you'll get some hits, some of which might have options that will work for you, or help you to achieve your goal.

    Just a note some pdf's are images and can not be converted back to text.

    In any case what program are you using to print with??

    my pdf dont have images, it is a database just like reports in tabular columns

    You might want to try another the Adobe program does not have a great reputation on Linux. Try kghostview and/or kpdf

    Just to be sure you can print other documents, can you???

    And just so you understand you can make a PDF that is simply an image of the text. To recover the machine readable data you must run OCR software.
