Error file lists warnings of bad selectors and

on websites I was using just yesterday.

BTW I was using [ctrl +] a bit yesterday to get better images. Has there been some hangover?

Sounds like someone messed with your about:config in firefox.
You might have to remove (or rename) the ~/.mozilla directory so you are reset to defaults.

It looks like you may have a bad sector on the hard drive. Boot with install disk and run rescue there is a file system check option. This may fix the problem. It could be a hard error ie the disk has developed a bad sector or area. I recommend Spinrite (not a free program) or a disk scan program from the manufactuer of the drive to do a low level scan and recovery. You may need to reinstall the effected software if the system can not peice back the files correctly. Go to Yast and reinstall any affected packages.

You may be right--- if it's a typo. (I almost fell into that trap.)
It says bad "selector", not "sector."
