Ho to dual boot xp pro and suse linux
Hi, I have Compaq Presario CQ50.107 AU model.I installed xp pro successfully. Now I want dual boot xp pro and suse linux. Can anybody help me how to install linux in dual mode. Can any body tell me how to do disk partion in linux and how much space(minimum) i need to allocate for linux.If any body can help me ,t would be greatefull.
I need steps for this installation. Can anybody help me plz?

OpenSuse claims the minimum required disk space for a standard system is 3 GB. That seems low to me, especially if you're running KDE. I wouldn't go with less than 10 GB for opensuse.

I agree with reed9 about not going less than 10GB because if you go with less, you will likely be posting again in the not too distant future wondering how you might be able to expand the size of your partitions. It happens all the time, and it's far easier to get them the right size before the install.
My own partition setup is generally very simple, and is usually something like the following:
/ (about 10 to 15 GB, ext3)
swap (about 1 to 2 GB, swap)
/home (about 10 to 15 GB, ext3)oz
→ new members/users: read this first | new member faq
→ no private messages requesting computer support - post them on the forums!
→ please use the "report post" button to alert our forum admins to problematic posts rather than responding to them yourself.
