    loosing GUI after installing any package

    Hi,

    Actually I have set up a cluster with VMWare Server. On the server node I have installed openSUSE 11.2 with Gnome.
    I have added ntf-server, gcc, glib and make packages to it later.

    Now whatever package I install on this machine I loose the GUI.

    Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?

    Have you installed the VMware Tools?

    I've also been having trouble with openSUSE 11.2 (general issues & VMware Workstation specific problems)....And as much as I like the new features, I'm thinking it might be too early for reliable use (for me).

    So if you already have VMware Tools installed on your guest and disabled all of the extra compiz stuff and its still not working properly, you might want to try v11.1
