    11.2 not mounting all media

    i have a wierd problem i have a couple of mp3 cd's and data dvds when i put the dvd into the drive , device notifier picks it up but does non of the options work . the mp3 cds are not detected at all . When i boot into windows xp all the discs work so i know its not the drive thats faulty .
    is there some setting i am missing thanx

    Also having automounting trouble...

    I'm not at all certain that what I am seeing is related to your complaint.

    I recently upgraded to 11.2 (from 11.1) on my Dell Inspiron 6400 (same as 1505). I have had a number of aggrevations, which I can't blame all of on 11.2 because of the likelihood of system rot from upgrading.

    One annoying one is that automatic mounting of USB drives sometimes works and sometimes doesn't . The best fix I have found is:

    # service haldaemon restart

    seems to cure it every time. But, why?

    Try this, if you are still having troubles and see if that does anything.

    I highly recommend a full install rather then an upgrade to 11.2.

    I have had few problems with a fresh install It seems that 11.2 is a rather large change in many subsystems. YMMV
