hi i am a new user of opensuse 11.1.... i want to know about audio/video player that support all kind of format and also a dvd player ...

To play most of Media Formats, you have to install a few codecs and packages.

First of all, add VLC Repository :

http://download.videolan.org/pub/vlc/SuSE/11.1

Install libdvdcss package and remove VLC repository after that.

Add PackMan repository

http://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/packman/suse/11.1/

Set Priorities as listed below

libdvdplay0 libdvdread4 libxine1 libxine1-codecs
libxvidcore4 libffmpeg0 smplayer xvidcore ffmpeg
libquicktime0

If you are using KDE then install amarok-packman and amarok-xine
