[SOLVED] Epson cx4800 not working after editing epson.conf

    Hi
I just switched to openSUSE. I was using Debian based linux before.
I'm having getting my scanner to work, It is an epson cx4800.

I know that it works with sane because I was using it before, on my other systems it was just a matter of changing epson.conf :

    Code:
    # epson.conf
    #
    # here are some examples for how to configure the EPSON backend
    #
    # SCSI scanner:
    scsi EPSON
    # for the GT-6500:
    scsi "EPSON SC"
    #
    # Parallel port scanner:
    #pio 0x278
    #pio 0x378
    #pio 0x3BC
    #
    # USB scanner:
    # There are two different methods of configuring a USB scanner: libusb and the kernel module
    # For any system with libusb support (which is pretty much any recent Linux distribution) the
    # following line is sufficient. This however assumes that the connected scanner (or to be more
    # accurate, it's device ID) is known to the backend.
    usb
    # For libusb support for unknown scanners use the following command
    # usb <product ID> <device ID>
    # e.g.:
     usb 0x04b8 0x0819
    # And for the scanner module, use the following configuration:
    usb /dev/usbscanner0
    usb /dev/usb/scanner0
usb 0x04b8 0x0819 is the device ID listed inthe output of lsusb
    Code:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
    Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04b8:0819 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus CX4700/CX4800/DX4800 (PX-A750)
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 059f:1018 LaCie, Ltd
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 062a:0201 Creative Labs Defender Office Keyboard (K7310) S Zodiak KM-9010
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 046d:c216 Logitech, Inc. Dual Action Gamepad
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
    Bus 004 Device 002: ID 03eb:3301 Atmel Corp. at43301 4-Port Hub
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 0781:5406 SanDisk Corp. Cruzer Micro 1/2/4GB Flash Drive
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
I am using xsane, and it does not recognize the scanner still, though in the past doing this worked on other distributions of Linux....is there something else I can do?
I tried running xsane as root and it still didn't recognize it.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
