Video editing
I took a video of a tall object witjh the camera turned 90 deg .I now wish to edit the video to turn the picture to the horizontal. Is there a Linux application that will do this that runs in Suse?

OpenShot and Avidemux can. Not sure what else.
You can also do it with mencoder from the command line.

You can do it very simply with LiVES ( lives.sourceforge.net )
There are SuSE packages ( packman.links2linux.org/package/LiVES ), and arch packages ( aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=1642 ). Links to packages for other distros (ubuntu, debian, gentoo, mandriva, etc) can be found on the ( lives.sourceforge.net/index.php?do=downloads ) downloads page.
( lives.sourceforge.net/manual/LiVES_manual.html#section5.2 ) Rotating clips is explained in the manual. Other sections will tell you how to import and encode.
Regards,
Salsaman.
(Sorry, this interface won't let me post links until I have made 15 posts. Maybe somebody can edit my reply to create good links.)
