    How do i access my DVD drive in Terminal mode?


    Ok, i'm in the terminal mode, logged in as root but how do i get to the dvd directory.

    Where is it located...?

    Newb in need!

    as root do:
    Code:
    ln /dev/hdb /dev/dvd
    and then:
    Code:
    mkdir /mnt/dvd
    mount /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
    that should work, if not let us know

    This is of course assuming that the DVD drive is attatched as a primary slave. I have found that SuSE automatically creates the links anyway, so wouldn't need to do the ln /dev/hdb /dev/dvd.
